Yarn Ideas For Nessa

One of the best things about designing patterns is seeing how knitters make them their own. Nessa was knitted in a variety of colourways by my testers - all of which were quite different from the semi-solid to gradient colour change that I used for the original and all of them are stunning.

The wrap uses a couple of skeins (just over two if you're using a regular fingering where 100g = 400m) so there's a great opportunity to knit stripes to use up ends or use more yarn with bigger blocks of colour throughout the wrap.

Susan used stripes in the middle body section to gradually change her grey yarn to blue and Sally striped her yarn though the whole wrap for a more tonal overall look. Susan limited her yarn to two skeins of fingering so she knitted slightly fewer repeats of the lace in the final border but as you can see, it certainly doesn't detract from the look of the wrap nor change the length too drastically. It's still a really wearable length.

Nat chose to use just one colourway for the whole wrap and I agree it's so stunning it really deserves to be shown off. She used about two and a half skeins of fingering and knitted the pattern exactly as written.
